Coburg Residence
Restraint, done with conviction. This Coburg home is a study in pared-back contemporary design — a charcoal-clad upper form floating over rendered masonry and warm timber battens, with a timber pivot entry the only flourish. Inside, the discipline holds: polished concrete floors, handleless white joinery and a white stone waterfall island, punctuated only by matte-black tapware, surface-mounted black downlights and slim ribbon windows that frame the garden like artwork. A render fireplace with a marble hearth and a smoked-oak feature wall add quiet warmth, while a backlit charcoal-timber dressing room brings a moodier, more tactile note to the private wing. Bright, minimalist bathrooms with freestanding baths hold the same clean line throughout. A home that proves how much presence there is in doing less.
